Can I get someones opinion on kite killers,( supposedly used to depower in the event of your handles flying out of your hands )
I just got a new traction kite, 4m square and don't want it flying away from me if it gets too much.

i once let go of a 3m kite in a gust of 8bft
while sliding a 360 with the buggy ..

but the kite flew about 50m till it hit the ground, about 300m till i got it.

kite killers work I use them on 4.9 and 3.0 blades. it saves chasing around after kites.

Or use a C-Quad when buggying, they flutter to the ground and you don't have to chase it for 300 meters. And they depower a lot nicer too.

I use killers that I made myself. A large loop for my wrists and a small loop that I tie to the brake lines ( loosley around the actual lines) when I let go the brakes are pulled on so far the kite cannot fly backwards or forwards.

I agree with the C Quad idea. Even in 25 knots they will stay on the ground when landed.

As for depower... you can depower them so much that you can actually luff them voluntarily and they land with no hassles whatsoever...
