In 5 years you never jump on the snowboard???
What a mistake, take the kite and go for a wind.
With so much experience over the years, com'on please ;-)

Never even been on a snowboard...let alone jump....I am asking what is most popular size foil for a 135-140 lb person in 15 mph wind

For me at 185 pounds on good snow in around 12-20mph:

6.5 to 7.5 for a high performance 2-line foil (or a 4-line buggy foil rigged 2-line on a bar)
9.5 for a flysurfer-type sheetable foil
12 for an LEI (or maybe for an arc)

Go a little smaller since you weigh less, a bit smaller still if you are riding on hardpack. Make sure you wax your board, otherwise it will be really slow and will stick when you try to carve a turn.

If you are used to using handles for skiing, try using a bar for better control of a kite with more power. It will keep the kite more stable, let you fly it easily with one hand and also let go completely for a few seconds while you put your bindings on.
