Anyone snow/ice kiting in RI, MA, CT area? The state powers that be say the ice is safe on a couple state park ponds. I was thinking Wardens Pond in Narragansett. It's cold enough, but not much snow yet.

Hi! I'm in NY, about 15 minutes from CT. I live on a 600 acre frozen lake, and have been out kiteskating & skiing. It's far, but if you're ever in the area...

I took a ride by the Wattuppa on Friday and saw only one ice fishing shack out there. Not sure where to launch from now that the boat ramp lot has been recently paved and gated off, this is where we launched from and parked last year.
Any experience with Warden's in South County? I know it's real shallow and popular with the ice fishing crowd.

i guess it's doable.
not quite as large as watuppa, but about 1 mile across.
i've been ice boating and ice boarding there, but i haven't seen it this year.
even though it's shallow, there are alot of springs scattered around so holes have always been present.
i think the only launch is from the south side, off wordens pond rd.
if the cold weather lasts, we'll have good ice on ninigret pond soon.
just a 100 yds from the ocean:)

If you are on the West side of that area - we had some decent snowkiting on Round Lake near Saratoga, NY this weekend. Saratoga Lake had ice/snow patches but Round Lake was all snow - and you can race the snowmobilers.
And if you find yourself drifting north, I am still finding and looking for great spots throughout the Mad River Valley, Champlain Valley and Stowe area in Vermont.
At least the ice is 12+" throughout the Northeast...now we just need some snow.

Check out the forums at powerlinesports.com for discussions on snow kiting north of Boston.
If you feel like driving, Lake Sunapee, NH has great condions this week..It's huge, good snow coverage and thick ice. Across from the ski-area entance there's a beach entrance sign on the right. That's where I accessed the lake. Heading up there today.
Always looking for something closer to Boston though.
