How I launch Tubes off snow

Postby KGN » Thu Jan 29, 2004 8:34 pm

I found a way.Maybe other people do it like this too.If you cant get the kite to flip on its back, try this. With the kite straight downwind(you need wind for this, its not going to work in 6 knots)w leading edge down, pull sharply on one side of the bar. This depending on snow conditions, causes the kite to take off sliding across the snow in one direction. Before it stops sliding in that direction, pull sharply on the opposite side. This will cause the wing tip on the opposite side to pop up off the snow.Do this back and forth a few times, and usually it will eventually flip one tip high enough that the kite will right itself and launch. But be ready,it will pull hard through the middle of the window.
The advantage to this method is you dont have to get out of your snowboard. It takes some practice to figure out the timing.Just one more option among many. :bye: :thumb:

Works fro me sometimes, especially in stronger wind, but I find it weirdly unpredictable :-?
