A long weekend of drinking and hanging out at the Skyline Yacht Club (The Triangle Bar) in Mt. Pleasant, Utah was just what I needed to roll into the 2010/11 snowkite season. Bob Wayne and his Outlaw Carnies kicked everyone’s ass on Saturday night with his unique sound and outrageous lyrics. Don’t miss him when he comes through your town!

The first real snowstorm of the winter began about the time Bob's Cadillac pulled out of Utah and by Monday morning there was enough fresh stuff to go ripping around on the weeds and dried wildflowers of Skyline Ridge. No surprise, I had the place to myself for the entire session. Oh, a few deer hunters did stop to watch. But other than that, I was happy in my solitude of snowkiting in October. After a couple hours I packed it up and headed back to Montana and am hoping the rest of the week turns out to be as much fun as my White Monday.

25" new showing at Teton Pass Not sure what that means for the kiteable area on your way back - but then I'm sure you're on it.

I went up and checked Togwatee yesterday and there was a foot + with a nice icy 4" base and was still dumping relentlessly. There's some blown off ridges and deep powder pools behind them. I couldn't even park at the feilds because the lot wasn't plowed. It's safe to say that it is on for Sublete, Angle and the Togwatee fields with 2+ today and 3-5 more due for this afternoon. I took pictures but don't have my camera with me so maybe later. Word Up Noah!

Sounds great! I'm also hearing that the snowpack is growing by the hour in the Bighorns. Hopefully someone will hit that up and post some pics. I'm geared up and going after the elusive wapiti for the next few days.

Five of us are headed to the Bighorns this morning. Conditions are looking really good.

Bighorn report: DOT closed 14A coming from the Sheridan side this morning, they did say it would reopen but could not say when. Checked Granite Pass out, still too thin. Keeping an eye on Bald Mtn. the next couple days if they reopen the highway.

Day One, Season Four was SICK, SICK, SICK!!!

A plow went off the road early this morning and "closed 14A."
Mark, Cale and John Pierre were at the Dayton Gulch Turnoff at 9:30 and fully lit on small kites and the best October snow we've seen as kiters. I showed up at 12:30 after the winds settled and it was a 12m afternoon on Little Baldy.
The road is open!!
