24hrs on a landboard!

Postby plummet » Sun Oct 31, 2010 9:28 am

well last week i did the first ever 24hr kite landboard.

Conditions were insane to say the least. 25knots as a minimum rising to 30-35 gusting to 40+ when the squals hit.

I managed 240km in these manic conditions.

That's AWESOME!

We never get wind that lasts that long. I can only assume you took breaks periodically. Tell us more!

That's a cool story! I'm still not sure exactly what you guys did. Sounds like one big long 24 hour sessions with breaks to change kites and hang out for sketchy gusts. That kite bike looks badass, though...

It challenge was simple. "how far can you travel in 24hrs" I used a landboard and Gannet on the kite bike.

Your right the kitebike is bat arse.

Its was simply the most insane conditions i have ever flown in.imagine flying in 30-40 knots for hours? Then try and do it at night on an 8m inflatable!!! doing 50-60kph and you can't see the ground to know if its hard or soft. then a squall hits and the wind spikes and its all on!!!
