I am a real beginner in snowkiting and never kited on water... But I think it is best to have inflatable kites for water and foils on snow.

But maybe it would be nice to see a closing cell valve on future kites that let you close your foil kite cells when you want them closed and opened when you want them opened. It would be a nice way to complete your water kite quiver or let your friends kite on water with you...

Just a thought...

You have Flysurfer, HQ, and probably some other foils with closed cell (probably not what you imagine). Welcome to the world.
Some others use some kind of sticks, to keep the shape of the foil kite. That's for people who wanna kite with a foil on water.
Others prefer to ride ILE kites on land.
There is a lot of different equipment. It's up to you to chose what you want.

I know about hq neo and flysurfers, but I meant why dont they design a kite that you can close the cells yourself when you plan kiting on water.

That is only an idea but anyway LEI seem to rule on water.

Sounds like you're new to kiting try out both types of kites before passing on bunk info both kites are amazing on snow and water drop a open cell in the water and start swimming

Either kite is perfectly fine for whatever type of flying fits you and only you.
There is no such thing as a snowkite

You buy a kite to fit you if you like foils and wanna fly water get a closed cell or have boat support for open cell if you wanna fly all seasons buy a lei but please before laying down a dime try them all out.

i just use Flysurfer and Peter lynn kites for everything, water and snow. omre than good enough for me. on the other side, i don t trekk much so i don t need an open cell foil (easy landing and packing fast)
u can use a LEI on snow if u r a bit cautious ( avoid hard impact and ice), if u can reverse launch it, it s better.
open foils can be used on water but don t drop them...
