That's a good idea. I fixed a large tear (4 ft) on my 9m. Cleaned the area with alcohol, then taped it, then applied some heat with an iron. Still holding.

If the tear is around a bridal attachment point then you may want to sew the patch as well. It's hard to sew through tape by hand though but you can do it.

Repair the kite with sailtape, repair will be strong and permanent, if along a seem sew.
