use to be a snow on the mitts but now am a believer...the Dakine mitt is thin where you grip (palm) and thick where you need the insulation. tested and worthy in 40F/40F/40knt.

My fingers would get cold in those O'Neil's. Great looking gloves, and they work most of the time...but on those bitter cold days I'd go through some periods of numbness until my core is warmed, I have re-flowed blood into my fingers by hanging an arm down, and everything is toasty. Too much hassle....I just bought this set and hope they are the ticket!


Xcel 5MM Infiniti Drylock 3-Finger Glove

I have had two problems with gloves in the past:

1. they fill up with water and balloon up

2. when winding up the lines after kiting the lines carve grooves where they run over the edge of the palm

Can anybody recommend some warmish gloves that solve these problems?

I am not dealing with ice and snow so they don't have to be super warm. I'm talking about comfort, not survival conditions.

I am thinking of a neoprene glove with a coating on the palm that extends around the edges a little. Maybe a velcro closure to reduce the ballooning effect.

I found a thin light wieght ice fishing glove with velcro wrist closer that I use when its a little cool out and as a liner inside my mitts in winter.
I believe its "Ice Armor" brand. Could be just what you're looking for.

nrs makes a dry glove that works really good when it gets colder I use the nrs mitt version of the same glove.
