I hate to say this, but it looks like the guy filming is at fault. He has his left hand forward. the other rider had right of way.

This is the reason I started wearing Helmet for Races on the Water. You never know what happens.

The one going upwind has right of way when on the same tack, so the guy with the camera is fault.

I think it's the opposite, the person going upwind (who has more options to change course) should give way to the person going downwind (the person filming) who has less options.

The person with yellow kite is coming from the right so he had right of way.

The person who is filming is going downwind / half wind and has more option's to avoid the crash. And should have moved downwind to pass him on the back. No problem's then.

But there can be made a special rule with the Race-Briefing that give's downwind priority.

This is also sometime's done in kite-buggy racing because of the high speeds we have on the downwind track.

Dude with camera is to blame, Not only was there enough space for him to raise his kite and avoid the DOWN WIND kiter reaching up to him, but the othere dude is still down wind. And beating up wind.

What I really wonder is what type of course is being run where riders running and reaching are crossing paths?????

Safe race courses help make safer races.

simple , one had to move his kite up the other move the kite down, both did not, both to blame, but still, how can you run in a race with a cam...
