Mount Washing NH 2011 Snowkiting

Postby crabnebula » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:36 pm

Snowkiting sorta just ended in the North Conway NH area....but has been going great on Mount Washington. Now we are getting a nice big storm and the fields AND LAKES are gonig to be good to go AGAIN!!

Anyone looking to get there fix in with Snowkiting COME ON UP!!!

Stop in at IME and or call me...Zebulon ...Ill give you the scoop

But I must add that Mount Washington is really not bad this year, after a few trips up there kiting since early Feb to now (today was nice) I would say that it is actually going to get better....nothing like last year, but...Ill take what we get.

today there was nice soft wind on the West side of Clay and Jefferson where the kiting was best..

Mount Washington was in the clouds most of the day and there are more rocks than last year,..but not as many as the year previous to last.

Come all, come soon..

If you dont know what your doing above treeline snowkiting on snow.....call me or reach me at IMCS... and Ill be your kite guide! I can tell you where, when, and how to get up there and snowkite safely....

Hope you are all well..

The ice on lake george is surprisingly still very good. 6-10 inches of solid clear with a couple inches of snow/ice on top. Maybe 1-2 weeks left in this season.

More snowkiting on Mount Washington.

Totally good conditions.

Still really cold conditions and very frozen (-11 f wind chills)

Looks like there is a warming trend and melting trend so things will soften up a little as Sunday approaches.

Sat (today) and Sunday earlier look "OK"...the winds are going to be a little bumpy as they are going to be switching from NW to SW to eventually S as the rain moves in,

Anyone looking for a good time check the link below and call IMCS and get any info that you may need and or a guide (me) to help you safely kite in the only spot on the East Coast that has true a mountaineering skill set needed with kites to boot!

http://www.ime-usa.com/imcs/snow_kiting ... ering.html

either way, have fun and be safe as well enjoy the real BEGINNING of snowkite season in NH!!

Logged in a couple more days above treeline here in NH.

From Mt Adams over to Mt Monroe there is still good kiting, but it is getting a little rocky and some wind has been gusty making it a little tricky to feel safe.

Any questions for folks looking for conditions call IMCS at 603 356 7064

Ill up date you on where and when and how to get there.

Guided tours are obviously available.

Have fun and be safe folks!

Zebulon
