We thought we were the only mountain kiters thinking of snow, but when the Montana Snowkite Rodeo organisors announced their event dates, we figured it's time for everybody to get amped up for the oncoming winter.

The 2012 US Open Snowkite Masters will take place February 3rd thru 5th at Skyline Utah.

The Freeride tradition will carry on, along with Mountain Racing and other Backcountry events. We are looking forward to riding together with you all. Mark your calendars and pray for snow, winter is coming!

Wow. Why so early in the month?
From my last 4 years attending you had it nailed with the past dates .
I have 100% wind 4 years in a row. Why change it?
Either way I will see you there and always appreciate all of the work you and Heather do for us.

... becuase our Earth's axis has shifted and the weather has changed along with it.

As well, Skyline is golden on any given weekend in winter, and its always a roll of the dice when planning wind powered events.

And with so many events in so many differing locations, we wanted to host the Snowkite Masters earlier in the season before confusion sets in and the road tripping masses become delireous with deciding between overlapping events... even as it is, we are unfortunately hosting the SKM on the same weekend that Stuart Penny is hosting a Snowkite Freeride Rally in New Mexico. Good news is there are more stoked Snowkiters in more places sharing the love than ever before.

Plus, end of Feb, beginning of March is a better time to be in Colorado at the DMC - 'Durango Mountain Challenge'..... another Windzup & SKA Brewing adventure.
