So I had some work yesterday morning in a little town that rhymes with gopher. So in the car went the skis and kites just in case. Forecast was 6-8 north. I got up to Lizard Head just after lunch to find snow smoking off the tops of the plow drifts. Wasn't expecting it, but got pleasantly surprised with a blue skies, clean winds 15-20. Logged 36 miles of kite-skiing on great powder. It's really deep now! The hill on the west side of the highway is now covered and providing some great vertical (6000+ feet in 3 hours). Mark from Telluride and Andy from rhymes-with-gopher showed up as well. It's always the best when you're not expecting it but score a killer session!

Here's a two minute video that Barry Stevenson with outsideadventuremedia.com
shot of us last Sunday. Fresh pow with winds in the 20s. Gotta love the San Juans. Good fun!

Another fun spring day last Sunday in Denver Basin with Max, Jeff, and Glickster. San Juan County plow crews are have roads cleared to over 11k feet. Thanks fellas for the final tow up: owe you gas money. Bluebird skies with a foot of nice fluffy (albeit a bit grabby) powder at 13k feet. Hopefully enough to keep that nasty dust layer at bay for a while. Max and Glickster recon'ed access out to American Flats. Amazing kite terrain out there including a major kite objective up the SW slopes of Wildhorse Peak. It's top of the list! Still tons of cover up there and snowpack is even getting better so we still have weeks of good kiting left!

Great to see the photos of the Colorado Hi-Country! Ultra-Spring conditions with desert dust on sloppy corn.

'rat: the Beartooth just opened up this past weekend. Still really good up there. Post and pics to follow. Hit me up if you are coming this way!

Noah
