So Cal spots?

Postby deltawake » Tue Oct 10, 2006 7:58 pm

Any landboarding scene in the LA area? I'm an advanced kiter on water and I'd like to landboard this winter are there any good , consistently wind spots close to LA. I was thinking that El Mirage would be good to check out.
Thanks.

I've gone out at El Mirage a few times. Not enough to figure out when the wind is gonna blow though. I just bring a kite/board when I head out there to ride dirtbikes.

That said, el mirage is sweet if you wanna fly but hurts like hell when you crash.

Manhattan Beach is the better So Cal land rider spot. Thats where the locals go for low tide action. Elmers is better for moto style madness.

When I lived in Manhattan Bch. I rode a buggy from the pier down to the power plant in Redondo to get to work one day. It was gusting to 44mph and I was on my 3m trainer kite. Pretty sweet trip cept for that damn pier in Hermosa.

I think the water line is wider at Belmont than at Manhattan.

This is an old post, does anyone still land or buggy at low tide in manhattan beach?
I would think the city officials would have banned this activity In the area
