Two competitions really going great, SKM MOOD Cup Race during the two first days, then WORLD SKM FREESTYLE during three extreme high level end of week.

For the Race, about 60 kiters on skis or snowboard, girls and boys, went full speed crossing the large and wide area on the spot La Pyramide, with super strong wind, thin slice of fresh powder covering hard snowpack.

Four flags to pass and two runs for each heat, arrival line right behind the "Hotel des Glaciers" here at the Lautaret Pass.

The Race competition is always getting a large success as everybody can compete, this is a cool occasion to go snowkiting against the best racers in the world, safety and pleasure are the main points set by the organisation, so no stress and all right for everyone.

The organizers Régis Labaune and Wareck Arnaud were strongly helped by a passionated twenty persons staff, all the time on the rush to make the things going the best as possible.

We shall never thank enough all members of the SKM staff working night and days all along the week.

This fair energy was the main positive point again during the three Freestyle days with impressive high level competitions.

With light wind and icy snowpack, the first day was felt as a warming up, nobody really fancy to get any injury and that's fine, so this first heats served to built a perfect organisation with quiet conditions.

Things went stronger on the day #2 when the Freestyle area was at the bottom of La Pyramide, with changeable wind blowing from 5knds to 25knds sometimes.

New terrain, different conditions, the snowkiters freestyle had to produce their best and find the highest technical skills they can.

Three international juges with Race director Jean Giovannoni keeping concentrated to evaluate each move on the snow by the freestylers.

After this Day #2, we could see which ranking was on the way and some very well known names were leading, I mean Benoît Miquel, Didier Botta, Tobias Deckert on skis, or Laurent Guyot, Romain Barchko, Didier Botta on snowboard. The girls were a few to compete both with skis and snowboard so had long and hard days as they went competing without any rest time. Norwegian legend Kari Schibevaag on her way to the 9th Snowkitemaster title here, followed by Céline Rodenas, Marie Trévillot, Muriel Vandenbempt and other smily girls jumping with style and technical moves.

Every day the whole SKM crew had a cosy rest about noon at the "Hotel Les Glaciers" with super lunch, tea or coffee, time to speak about the strongest images we saw on the snow.

Happy Hour in the late afternoon at the pub "Le Frog" near Villeneuve, often with the dinner high gastronomy, DJ Stephen mixing music here as well for great atmosphere.

No real SKM day without the traditional crazy night on the dance floor at Le Chazelay, producing famous live music bands every day.

This perfect 11th issue of the event had a magic final highlights on thursday as the conditions were the best we could wish : sunshine and blue sky, 20cm fresh powder from the night, 10-20 knots stable south wind blowing.

The best freestyle area near Le Jardin Alpin, with steepy slope, powerful kicker, make the show increasing big and that was the highest moment of the week.
