Flexifoil no longer selling the Blade?

Postby corbett » Tue Sep 29, 2015 3:01 pm

Am I correct in thinking that Flexifoil have stopped making the blade?

I know they halted production temporarily a couple of years ago but now it seems permanent.

It speaks volumes about the decline of land kiting and Flexifoil themselves.

Don't forget the Flexifoil Blade was at one time the most common kite to be used for land kiting and kite surfing(at my beach anyway).

What an iconic, versatile kite!!!!!!

Is it a decline in land kiting or a decline in fixed bridle use in general? Is Flexi to some level leaning towards Ozones path of discontinuing fixed bridles in favor of putting their efforts into other more versatile offerings?

Or a decline in flexi. Seems like a significant downturn since the departure of Hadlow.

They have only one inflatable now.

Oh, a massive decline in land kiting. It's true, a couple of people bought depower race foils to buggy but watch them give up kiting a few months later.

The fact that a major land kiting association admits a falling membership and is no longer offering "insurance" confirms the decline.

It seems Flexifoil went to direct sales only.

No, flexifoil is dead Chris.

The blade was at its hey day 10 years ago. Its been out dated technology for that time.

Land kiting is getting more and more fringe by the day. Its one thing I don't get. Its all kiting. But guys will happily kitesurf and then snow kite. But not even consider sand or grass.

What are the drunk Bogans going to fly now?

Talk about a kite for chavs - holy crap.

But you know what Plummet?

THE FLEXIFOIL BLADE HAS NEVER SEEN AN INCREASE IN PRICE SINCE IT FIRST WENT ON SALE, INFACT EVERY MODEL(6?) SAW A DECREASE IN PRICE.

I believe the Blade was around in 1997 but maybe not sold until years later.
