kiting on ice

Have the King kitesnowboard for 1 month now and was mainly riding on plain ice. Excellent grip!! You just lean backwards and the board goes like on trails. Feels more like a twintip than a snowboard. Can't wait to ride it in powder
Here in Finland, the board only costs 200 Euro.

16m slingshot fuel and 15.5 flysurfer psycho in about 8-10 knots of wind. skis and skates seem to go about the same speed on ice.

My friend is using a King Snowglider - a snowboard designed for kiting. It works fine on a plain ice as well as in powder snow.

I used a snowboard on bare ice sunday and it was the worst waste of time of any kiting session. I can't see how he has any fun. I will never do that again. In fact, I'm so sick of this no-snow routine, I'm not going again unless I have to drive 4 hours to get to at least 3-4 inches of nice snow.

I think skis are faster than skates. The longer edges don't get uncontrollable at high speeds and if the ice surface is a little rough it is not as much of a problem.

Unless it is warm and/or the sun is shinning, it is important to have good sharp edges on your skis.

Wear a helmet. Ice is harder than asphalt. Most of the time when you fall you will just slide but if you do hit your head you will wish you had a helmet covering it.
