I use my 1510 (195lbs. with a 148*42) from 12-20mph, and the 1120 from 17-25mph.

I've noticed a similar thing.
It's either breezy enough for the 1510, or it isn't breezy enough for any kite (larger LEIs). Although guys on 18m+ inflatos do lock in and park the kite a bit earlier.

I think the 1510 is 10.5M projected.

windranges

I would agree with those windranges for your bodyweight. You can get lower by stacking two 1120s! LOL

Which foil would provide a better low-end?

Postby KiteVol » Fri May 09, 2003 6:32 pm

At 95 Kg, which kite would have more low-end.

(A) MastAir 12m
(B) 1510 Arc

haven't flown the ma12 but my psycho 15.5 has more power than my arc 1510 BUT at the lowest wind limit, the ARC is much easier to fly than the Psycho. the difference between the arc and psycho is about the same as the arc and inflato or psycho and inflato---just apples and oranges.

Psyco 15.5

Why is the 15.5 Psycho so difficult to fly?

Don't want to mislead anyone inferring that the Psycho is difficult to fly. It's that the ARC is just too easy to fly. I've also been flying ARC's for a couple years where as only just a few sessions on the Psycho. It's just that I have been trying to use the Psycho as a light wind kite and it is not a lightwind kite. It is a big boy's kite! Many consider 12mph to be light air and the psycho is great at 12. Unfortunately, we get a lot of 8 days. I bought it for the 8 days. It flys fine at 8 but it's just not as good at 8 and mistakes are hard to recover from--like I swim at 8
