OVER-RATED pro riders

So we all know there are some "pro-riders" out there who shouldn't be anywhere near a magazine much less in it. Granted, guys like Shinn, Vari, Solbach, Jaime, Mauricio, Lou, they all rip and should probably be paid double what they make (of course, in a tiny industry, this is an impossibility). But there's some other ones who simply do not deserve the exposure and sponsorship. No need to name any names - afterall, this is how these guys make a living (unless they're useless trust-funders). But I would much rather see the little money which does exist go towards young talented riders who are trying to make it and push the sport. It's sad that in every mag there is a full page ad with a clown whose only trick is a tail-grab.

The guy with the hat rips . I have seen many days on Oahu when he was the only one to actually go to the outside, on some scarrrry big days. Not to mention the tricks he can pull with the hat that not any of the named pros can.

I'm with you the future of kiteboarding is all about hat tricks.
I have never heard anyone say a negative thing about Top Hat?

Are you sure all those pics of tail grabs aren't there because that's the photographer's cliched 'money shot'? It exposes all the logos nicely, rider and board fill the frame in asthetically pleasing way and gets a good close up.

f***, yeah. Kevin (he has a name, you know) also is a really cool guy to hang with, a good ambassador for the sport, & certainly doesn't go around bad-mouthig people he's never met/seen ride.

Why do you need to go pick on fellow kiteboarders? Man, I wish I was a trust funder, not sure that would make me useless, but whatever. What's all the negative vibe about? Don't we all participate in one of the most excellent sports going? I also happen to think its awesome that there are so many ways to ride, trick, surf, cruise, dangle, or whatever. There seem to be alot of people that want to slash at others for not being just like them.

Be tolerant, somebody doing it different may come up with a better way.
