בטיחות הבלוף הגדול או גימיק פרסומי

ב 5/6/2003 רוח צפונית 15 קשר אחד המדריכים של מועדון במרכז ת"א מניף קייט במרחק של 15 מטר מבית הקפה צ'ינקי ביצ' כתוצאה מהנפה לא נכונה או חיבור של החוטים לא נכון הוא מרסק את הקייט (16 מטר) על ראשם של אנשים שיושבים במקום. זאת הפעם השניה שלמדריך זה קורת תאונה. לפני מספר חודשים הוא הניף את מצנחו האישי ועף על אחת הסככות בחוף.
איזה הכשרה עבר המדריך הזה? האם זאת דוגמא לבטיחות? הם מלמדים באופן קבוע מול המסעדה על החוף. כך שכל מתלמד לומד להניף מול המסעדה. כשהוא מסיים את הקורס הוא מגיע ומניף את מצנחו הפרטי באותו מקום.
האם זאת בטיחות?בנוסף כל הגולשים המנוסים שגולשים במועדון שלהם מקבלים עידוד לקפוץ 2 מטר מול בית הקפה
ממש סכנה. התאונה עומדת לקרות.
האם זאת בטיחות?בחודשים של הזרמת הביוב לים. חל איסור על כניסה למים ,הזיהום היה קשה במיוחד.
אך הם המשיכו להדריך ולהכניס אנשים למים. ישנם תמונות המעידות על כך.
האם באמת איכפת להם מהגולש?
אפוא הבטיחות?
לפני שנה חורף סערה עם סופת ברקים עם רוחות עירות, כן שוב הם מלמדים, כן בסופת ברקים!!! יש תמונות המעידות על כך סיכוי רב לחטוף התחשמלות דרך המצנח שמוליך חשמל.
האם זאת בטיחות?לימוד של גולש מתחיל לעלות על גלשן בפעם הראשונה בגלים של מטר.
מה יותר חשוב ההצלחה של התלמיד או לשרוף לתלמיד את הזמן והכסף?
בנוסף ובעבר הלא רחוק הזרקת טינר לכל גלשני הרוח שלא נקנו מהחנות שלהם ומהחברה שהם מיצגים.
אפוא הבטיחות?סגירה של המועדון בערב כשגולש חבר מועדון נמצא במצוקה בלב ים.
אפוא הבטיחות?
והרשימה נמשכת ונמשכת.

This location is especially bad as an example, and I have always wondered how they have avoided more serious accidents there, but if you look at the situation on the rest of the beaches now that summer is here and they are full of people, it is becoming dangerous to kite in almost all the beaches. There are people with "Mangals", kids running around, jumping over lines, touching or pulling kites, and people sitting, lying and walking everywhere. The problem is that there are no designated areas for kiters only, and there never will be, in my opinion, here in Israel. Also the general beach goer does not realise the danger of coming and sitting with his family among the kites. They look very nice and attractive, and it is a beautiful sport to watch as well, but not one of them and even most of us kiters, are not aware of the dangers involved.

Putting up signs on the beachs, in certain areas, that warn people to be carefull of the kites, that they are dangerous, etc etc, might make a few people more aware, but this will also not solve the problem.

Seeing as we, the kiters are the ones with the power in our hands - ie the kites, WE HAVE TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY!!!! WE must make sure that we explain people that come to look, or want to touch, that it is dangerous to them, and that they should stay away, and be careful. WE need to make sure that we set up, as far away from other beach goers as possible. If anything happens it will be our fault, and our responsibilty, and our sport will suffer as a result.

We have the luxury, or curse (see it as you will) to live in a counrty where the national motto is "it will be OK". Rules in this country are either enforced strictly, or not at all. At the moment there are no rules, and we have to make sure that it stays this way, I like it this way, it means that we can kite anywhere we want, but we cannot so it at the expense of others. In Europe and the US and a lot of other countries kiting has been banned at a lot of places that are great for kiting. It is good that we do not have these rules here and we must be careful not to compromise the situation that we have.

Remeber, we are the ones with the powerful toys in our hands, not the people sitting on the beach, at the cafe, or the kids running around... Keep this in mind.
