Rhino2 18 or Rhino1 16sqm

Postby Shredware » Wed Aug 27, 2003 6:54 am

Hello all,

Im thinking of buying a a bigger kite to accompany my Toro2 12sqm for light wind. I am thinking about Rhino2 18 or Rhino1 16sqm. They are both used so I can get them for cheap. Im a beginnner intermiediate rider 78kg and 178cm tall. Which one of the two would be better?? Anyone have an Idea?? Many thanks!

hello
I'm 75kg intermediate rider and in my quiver I have R2 16 and SS Fuel 13. The R2's have for sure not to good wind range when Fuel has very good low end.
I use R2 with quite big board (180cm) and I cant start planning in about 10 knots but when wind fall in some lulls I end in the water. So you need at least 13knots average wind to be sure that in some wind hole you be able to stay on the water. So in my opinnion if you want to use this kite with not as large board or in wind like 10 knots choose 18. But I don't know toro's wind range - cuz quiver of T12 and R18 can creat to big hole

peace

you will have more fun with the R2 18.
you might be able to fill the gap to the Toro 12, but I guess there will be some knots where you have too much power on the 18 and too little on the 12. Just try to fly the 18 low and edge hard, then the gap will be smaller.

Have fun
Toby
