handle pass leash

Postby STF » Tue May 31, 2005 5:49 am

I got the wipika one,

how do i attach the back with the loop to my harnass? what kind of rope to use to create line on the back of my harness?

Seems the clip on the front of the wipika is small, barely fits on the new best bar.

any one have photo?

thanks

if you have sufficient rings on your harness, just mount a rope there, if not, do it between the two points where the belt starts where the spreader bar is fixed.
use a bowline knot and secure the loose end with an eight knot, so it can't slip through.
before tying the other side, take a metal ring ans slide it on the rope - attache the leash on that ring.

i atached the rope and did all that stuff then put a pulley with a clip on the end inbetween the rope and you can connect that to just about anything

i ran a rope behind the harness and have a shackle on it, then attatched the leash to the shackle. i also have a pin release at the other end of the leash.

I use the same as R1ck, I have a pass line on the back of my harness that goes from d-ring to d-ring with a stainless steel ring that slides the length of the line. I use a shackle with quick release to attach to the ring for safety. I have a standard bungee leash going from the shackle to the kite line. Seems to work very good for me and I have no problem passing the bar with this set-up.
If you don't want to figure how to do all of this, Jeff at prokitesurf.com has a great handlepass leash system that comes complete with everything you need. Works very good too.
