Trolls

Postby gaffer » Fri Feb 14, 2003 9:55 am

In recent weeks this forum has added some great new features but on the flip side it also seems to be sinking to the sad depths of personal abuse and mindless propaganda that is of little value. Whilst the occassional bit of banter is good to keep things interesting long running personal battles just get in the way.

It seems that many of these 'debates' are started and/or fueled by sad individuals (sometimes refered to as trolls) who have nothing better to do.

Whilst a ban might seem like an obvious solution whats to stop the troll coming back as annono or a different username.
Maybe in Extreme cases then a block of IP could work, but for the majority of the time I would think the better solution is just to ignore these people, the thing they crave most is a reaction and being ignored is what they like least, hopefully then they will get bored and move to another group or forum.

Just ignore them.. is it that hard?

Life would be pretty boring if we all thought/reacted the same.. consider it variety..

Censorship is the last resort of an already over controlled society :P

to ignore them is the best.

banning is no real solutions, since they also contribute interesting stuff.

What we all need to do is to accept different opinions.
Lucky us, who are able to express our opinions!

Not what I fly is the best for everyone, only to me !

Some people haven't understand it yet, which they should.

Therefore the foils vs tube discussions are worthless and get boring.

Only registered people is no option either, since it works fine the way it is, with only a few exceptions. You can register as XXX and keep writing nonsense, this won't help much.

I agree. Ignoring the trolls is the most effective option. Especially those abusive TROLLS who take criticism of ram airs as a personal attack.

TROLLS, can't live with them, can't live without them.

Its allways good to read another opinion, if it is different from ours, even better, that way we can look at a question from another perspective. We should be open to every new way to look at a problem.

There are people (TROLLS) who can't open their minds, its best to ignore them to avoid meaningless confrontations, but i feel pitty of the TROLLS, they really lack an "aerodinamic thinking", open to the all "thinking currents" around. They may have good hearts, and mean no harm. They're only lacking some things.

But evolution is for everyone, with luck they'll evolve and join the Sapiens Sapiens of the world.
