Fuel 11 or 13?

Postby Guest » Sun Mar 30, 2003 7:16 pm

I´m rather confuse! I have bought one GTO 9 to be my smallest kite.

Then, which combination is the best?

GTO 9, Fuel 11, Fuel 15

GTO 9, Fuel 13, Fuel 17

GTO 9, Fuel 11, Fuel 17

Please help me!!! I´m confused...

So I will try and answer from the information you provided which is that you have a 9m GTO. The 9m GTO's power is like a 7m fuel, so I would say your next kitesize higher would be a Fuel 11m then a 15m.

V's right on the mark for the sizes of SS kites. I'm 200lbs and flew the 17m fuel yesterday in stronger winds than I thought it would handle and it rocked until the small squall came through. Air temp=45 degrees, water temp= 40 degrees. Perfect day in the midwest. The QR on the chicken loop worked flawlessly as a small squall came through and I was about 100 yards from the rocks and trees in gusts over 30. Great hang time and lift and for a high aspect, and turns over easy to relaunch. Very impressed with the performance. The speed of this kite made it feel like my 2002 12m. Very fast and tunable. 9m GTO is definitely a high wind kite.
Ride what you like.....Like what you ride...... :thumb:

You could go to the 17m, 11m jump if you have boards to swap out. a 2 kite gap in bigge sizes is ok in most situations.

Go for 13

Postby Louis Cypher » Wed Apr 02, 2003 8:25 am

i have a Fuel 17,13,9 quiver and know the GTO 11. I think due to the excellent dewpower of the 13 there will be no gap between the Fuel 13 and the GTO 9. So go for the 13 which is the best kite i ever tried!

Greetzzzz,

Louis

I have a similar scenario except that I am looking for a small high wind kite.

I already have the 15 & 11 Fuel and love them both. I can hold down the 11 to upper 20's with gusts to 30kts or 33mph but it is a little scary and only in flat water.

Should I get the 9 Fuel or 9 GTO? If the winds are that strong(30-35+) I most likely will be riding in the ocean and the wind would be a little gusty. :?:

Thanks,

D
