cool pics from holland

Postby kitesurfing freak » Sun Apr 06, 2003 7:40 pm

We had a great weekend here in Holland. The wind was around 20-22 knots and coming from the north. The best conditions for the spot Vrouwenpolder. I (and my friend robbert) took a lot of pictures and 3 video's of this great weekend.
The video's:

the weekend was not as good as I thought, a few serious accidents.
the news item from my site:

We can notice here that the season is beginning to start, lots of beginners are trying to stay on their board and also a lot of accidents.
This weekend I've seen several accidents at our local spot, I've seen a lot of kites and kiters flying into the dunes.
But the following article about a ccident on the Brouwersdam is very serious.
From the local newspaper:

Translated, 2 kites got tangled and 1 guy released his kite, the other didn´t release his kite. So he was pulled by 2 kites on shore, he stopped against a car.
This looks like the accident of Silke, but this accident was not fatal.
I don't how its going with the kitesurfer, I hope to hear soon how his condition is.
What can you learn from this, use a good working safety system!

Yeah Andy,

Remember what happened with the kiter on the picture....not able to hold his kite and not having a kiteleash. Glad I was not in the path of the kite. So much for being the best kiter on the beach.

And another great picture with this ugly man on it ;)
Nobody probably tells you, but I can assure you that a lot of local kiters love it that you take pictures of them.
