forum for kitesurfers
I am an int kiteboarder, 75kg, & I cant decide weather to get the lift or black tip? Some people say the BT is less tech to fly but has much more pull, others say if the lift is rigged properly their is no luffing or flying backwards? Does one relaunch easier than the other? any advantages one may have over the other? thanks

You can't go wrong with the 2002 Airush Lift. Flew them all last year and they were great kites. Trimmed correctly there is no problem with the Lifts fly backwards. If you have too much rear line tension for the amount of wind present then you can experience that, but that is about as technical as it gets to trim the kite properly. I know Cabrinha did have some bladder problems with their kites, but that may have been the 2001 models, so the 2002 may be OK. I did see a Cabrinha tear in half in mid air about a year ago after a big luf. Can't say what year it was, but just more information. My 2002 Lifts held up real well and I had no problems with them at all last year. I was impressed enough to purchase a new quiver of Airush Lifts this year too. Take care.

I can't comment on the Lift as I have never flown one, but I have a 2002
blacktip that I'm not impressed with. No bladder problems on this year
class, but the durability is not good, especially along the leading edge
where the foil part is sewn to the leading edge, stiching coming out, small
tears, lots of tape. Had a 18" tear along the center batten professionally
repaired, I have no idea how this happened, didn't even put the kite down
that day. Also it's a slow turner and tough to relaunch. I won't buy
another black tip.

in 2002 the Lift have an advantage ober the Black tip 2002.
In 2003 I feel is the other way around, but they are both good kites.
You will not going wrong with both choice.
