Cabarete rocks in the summer! It is our most consistent time of the year with side-on shore conditions from 10-30knots (morning usually 10-15knots and picks up between 15-30 knots in afternoon) turning on between 10a and 11a and lasting until sunset:-) If interested, contact me re: lodging or lessons... Kitexcite has agreements with 12+ properties between Kite Beach and Cabarete from hostel type accommodations to villas. Same price or better than you going direct, but unbiased opinion re: whats going to suit you best. World Cup is usually held last week of June so depending on if you want to see or avoid the action, keep the date in mind.

What about the wind in the spring? From March 1 - March 31. I'm trying to figure out what the smallest size kite I need is.
Does it exceed 25 knots regularly?
Thx.

Waves on reef can be head high or more when we have swell. Waves are fun but not as uniform/well formed as other wave riding spots, like in California or ?. RE: March, wind is still usually in the 10-22 knots range but it would be best for you to contact us as your trip draws nearer for the latest forecast.
all the best,

Thx for the reply.
I made an error I meant March 1 - May 31st.
Does that change your wind estimate or is it still good?

Well as we get closer to summer the wind picks up to 28-30 knots so best is to bring kites for 10-30 knots if you can! You're staying for quite a long time.... have you made any decisions re: lodging? I have a bungalow that might interest you.... also long term rates available at a few properties with or without cooking facilities.
all the best,
Marina
