Speaking from experience - if you keep the kite over your head in squally conditions/strong gusts or alike - you gona really hurt yoself or at worst die. I got lofted into a hotel wall, my friend got lofted 50 ft high, another broke his pelvis.
No way do you keep her at zenith in high wind - high i mean 25 knots plus. or gusts above 10 knots from ambient.
Experience is the fools teacher sorry to be a fool.
