When powered up my board wants to go: Deadruuuunnnnniiing!!

Hi,
When i am very powered-up, my board just forces me to point downwind into a deathrun until i manage to speed the kite down by putting it at the zenith (i ride Rhino1 12 and 16).
Altough this happends, it never spinsout! I just can't hold the edge! Can this be a too-much fin problem? Too-much fin lift? It has 6 fins, and the tip ones are big. Has anyone experienced this? How did you solve it?

You have to be more specific about the board dimensions and the wind conditions when that happen to you.

We made an experiment here on the beach and took a (.5inchx15x60) piece of plywood with no fins and mounted footstraps on it. It wasn't pretty, but it did stay upwind and we even jumped it.

My point: I don't think it's the board. You need to learn to control your speed by edging.

The board is 148cmx37cm and one of the situations was in 20-25 knots choppy lagoon water with Rhino1 12m (i am 80 kg).
I am betting on my incorrecte technique, but the thing is that with my previous boards (Rick Shapes 165x39 and ahd 185x45) i never had this problem. In those boards, the board always did a spinnout when i was at speed and over-powered.

i am risking to say that you got too much of fins

Towards the top of the wind range of your kite you could try a narrower board

the fins you got mounted there look big to me - light wind like
get a set of 3.0cm or 1.0" - 1.3" and you will be able to edge your board alright!
