Just had half an hour on the beach with the 18Nem. I am 70KG and rigged up in 7-8kts to check the line lengths. the kite was just about stable but didn't like the lulls too much!
Anyway, got it tuned and then took out the 169 litewave in flat water for a quick rip up and down.
Almost held ground but not quite
Can comply with that, i own the 16m so that's about equal in power for my weight (60kg). After several session's i found the bottem end laying around the 8 knots mark on a 180cm directional. The kite is gonna stall in those light winds if you want to pull the bar to get the power you need. The 16 begins to fly real good from 11 knots up, and i then can ride a smaller board also...as i read this i think the 18 nemi has the same characteristics....they may have enough power in 8 knots in theory but it just isn't usable because you can't use it all in that wind range. So is 10 knots really the point where the fun starts for all kites? (a 20m X4 was stalling in 7 knots also) And is it a waste of money to buy a light wind gun for 60kg if it's gonna drop in 7 knots? I began to think the 14m mark is the point of return for me, because i think i can get as much out of it for bottem as the 16 does for me.. Maybe the 21m Nemi has a slightly different design (as i read) to be able to cope with ligher winds better?
