Maybe it depowers too much so hasn't enough constant pull? You can adjust that by trimming.

I was just breezing through the review forum and came upon a comment of yours"grab the 5thE&hook at the same time".Would love to know what you mean as i am about to start trying un-hooked moves for the first time.

I had a R5 16 and I changed it for a R5 18. The 16 is very bad under 15 kts (for my 80 kg). I found it closer to a 14 than a 16. The upper end is not far from 25 kt (gust).

Now I have a 18 which is better in the low end but a bit slow compare to 16. The high end is good too (22-23 kt gusts).

Helpful info ced31, thanks. Do you find the kites go upwind fairly easily compared to others you may be familiar with?

I find going upwind is easier and awesome when you are in the top end. In the low end, I find that it is not as good as another 4 lines kite. I think it is due to the "Y" too short done by the front lines. This "Y" makes you loose power in low winds.

Interesting. I wonder whether that is general thing with 5 line kites using a Y connection.
