quote sq225917-some people could just be stood there with their ass on fire, flames licking up their backs, wondering what the burning smell was, while everyone one else tells them their ass in on fire.

but still not believe it.
Simon,

Lose the attitude-it's doing you a disservice.

You are WAY too quick to jump on people questioning BEST-take a leaf out of the book of your American master-answer in rational polite manner, without emotion, aggression and derision.

pka, i'm just expressing my viewpoint, based on my experience of the product over a year.

people asked for cheaper kites, we gave them.
people asked for newer features, we added them in.
people complained there was no innovation,we innovated.
then people complained there were no rider reviews, so we let them try them.

then guys with one month old id's come up and start bagging what best 'have done'.

i mean come on, show me the bit where DR L said he was lofted 30 feet and 200 yards......

Mate,

That was a much better reponse.

And you're right, people are VERY quick to heap it on BEST-but, BEST sets themselves up for it-they set their own standards high and their business model gets up the nose of the established players and payers.

It was mentioned in Drs report that he was lofted on the beach in very light wind-and BEST does state in their promo material that you won't get lofted-so that's where teh point of conflict is and it's been noticed.

By the way I am STOKED with my Yarga 13M-now I have it dialed in-and the wrinkle isssue is no more-just need to dump the kite into the face of an overhead wave-put it through the salty rinse cycle and voila-no more wrinkles.

Why you guys are so rigid and angry, relax why not go with the flow of changes!
First of all that's not right to take my words out of contest and twist it all around.
What I meant that how easily the kite can jump and how wide is the sweet spot.
By the way I was still in full control and sending the kite already towards the water so I can't even call that lofting.
So I'm sorry about my expression of getting some wrong ideas about my hopping experiences in a cat's fart.

kitekoen, I have the best windspeed indicator the Windscribe for testing the wind and I got the readings before I'v riden the Hellfish.
I can tell you this is the most accurate indicator I'v had now for a year tested against with others. No moving parts.
http://www.davisweathergadgets.com/prod ... t=6&scat=1
That wind was accurate what I mentioned at Matheson Hammock at that time. There are many witnesses who could prove this.
You might not realize but I'v been riding there windsurfing over 20 years and now 4 years kiting.
So I know and others when the wind is N.E. direction you deduct about 5 mph what you see at Crandon or Biscayne's wind readings,
#1- because the sensors are placed very high
#2- everybody knows at the open Biscayne side the wind is more in this direction,
and the wind is being reduced and gusty by the time arrives to our spot.
So if you fly at our spot take that under consideration!

I found what I was looking for from a kite and that pleases me,
in this case to achieve more with less what I was looking for.
There were too many positive factors of the Hellfish which allowed me to ride on a smaller board and smaller kite.
You can't ignore that, but you don't know until you try it.
After all this there is no point for me to compare the Hellfish to Raptures
or to any other Brands because it's lighter and a different animal,
and that's what makes it tick without any complicated R&D.
There are many ways to skin a cat, so why not other Brands could come up with half price or half weight of Hellfish now? :?:
Just to copy each other is lame and the opportunity is there for any brands to do R&D IMO.

The bottom line is I suggest for you test it yourself and compare it yourself, than you'll know what I know and decide yourself. :bye:

Cheers,

DrLightWind

DrLW - Quality.

SQ - Yes.

PKA - Great!

Wawando - Your avatars are something to behold.

Is it just me or does it seem like everyone just got a little closer? Even fo' seems kinder and gentler these days. Now lets all join hands and circle around the shiny kite....

Hey drLightWInd
i just received an email about this review.

c'mon
I own 5 Best kites. i love em. i recommend best to everybody who asks.

But what you're saying is not true.

i kite in the miami area.
i was out Mon/ Tue out powered on a nemesis 18
On Wed was out at noon on the 14 Nemesis on North Miami beach, and out on the yarga 11 overpowered in matheson at 6:30 to 8pm. Thursday, I did a downwinder to south beach bit underpowered on the 14. At 6:30pm i was LIT (somewhat overpowered) on the 14 (i would have been perfect on the 11 but did'nt want to waste time rigging it)

Unless there's a misterious black hole 5 miles south on Crandon, it wasn't 12mph this week.

cmon man i want to believe the hellfish hype. but you're overdoing it with this crap. do'nt do it this way/

btw. im 170lbs

It wasn't a black hole, it was a line of storms. Wind was 10-13 before the storms came through then it was a wash out at 6:20
