I'd like to know that too?
Nice review and about that range I will know when I test it myself since my weight is close to yours.

Toby don't you think this thread belongs to the Review section?
Just a point since you woudn't even let me posting a link for the review section

I am surprised the Crossbow doesn't have its own forum like the Hellfish. It seems a little unfair.

I like seeing these threads in the main forum when the topic is fresh - in a few weeks when the hype has died down some, then they could be moved over...

Crossbow range and comparrisons

Postby Cimeron » Tue Jul 05, 2005 5:32 pm

To answer the question about range, I can't really say for sure. I only had it out in light wind before others took it out when it started to really blow. It's blowing about 20 at Rufus right now, so I'll try to take it out in the stronger winds today.

Someone asked how it compares to the Windwing, which has a Be-Safe-Bar that depowers the kite very well. I tried one of Flash's prototype Windwing kites in Maui back in October, and while that was a while back, I do remember the kite depowering quite well when you throw the bar out. The Crossbow is very stable when you depower and still has very good control. It's been a long time since I've ridden the Windwing and I'd prefer to do a back-to-back test with it and the Crossbow before saying which one is better than the other when it comes to depowering.

A guy named Gabe took out the Crossbow yesterday, and he rides a Windwing kite normally, so maybe he can provide a good comparrison.

(By the way, just to clarify, I'm not sponsored by Cabrinha.)

OK, time to kite now! Happy kiting!
