Dax,
I was out on the 16 while smaller riders were on 18's, I handed it off to anoher rider to try, while he was out the wind came up, everyone else came in for smaller kites so I pumped the 12. Others were overpowered on 14's, they said they should have been on 10's, I was really lit on the 12 and Kyle was comforatbly riding the 16 without being at all overpowered. So basically he rode it through these others whole 18-14-10 quiver without leaving the water. That's what you want.

My method this year has been to forego the 16m completely and use my 13m. Most of the time I don't even need a board different than my Hein 124, but sometimes I grab a skim (that's when even the guys on 20's are struggling.)
For what $1700 for that 16m bow?... I could go to SPI 3 times for that much... More offseason days, that's what I want.

Dax,
16-18m are the most used sizes where I live. Without a kite this size you would cut your days by about 2/3, maybe half in a good year. I'm also 200lbs+ but even the 130lb light weights have 16's that they use all the time.
Must be nice to live so close to the Gorge.

Sure is, but Oregon Coast and the beaches I kite 1/2 the time usually average 16-18m kites as well.
Anyway... I like the 9m Crossbow, good kite.

I would acctually far rather kite the coast than the gorge anyway, never been down there but all the photo's i've see remind me of Tofino, BC where I learned to surf. Love the west coast, cold though.
Havn't been out on the 9 yet, 12 is nice, I think I will be really stoked with the 16 once I get the powerlock.
