How to turn a wakeboard into a kiteboard

I'm glad you're stoked on your creation dude, but I would not ride that thing if it were me.

- No foot pads?
- Leash? (which you shouldn't even have, not to mention the shortest one ever like you have in the photos.)
- Rocker?

Rocker is the biggest reason wakeboards suck for kiteboarding. Too much rocker means your board will be SLOOOWWWW. You will be plowing water rather than planning over it. You will need a much bigger kite for the same wind and will have a lot of trouble going upwind with too much rocker.

Honestly you'd be better off building something out of plywood and investing in some decent straps and pads, or just spend the $300 on a damn good used kiteboard (there a tons of them out there in that price range.)

I`ve often thought about using a wakeboard but never actually done it. A few guys at my bech ride them set up just the same as you`d use wakeboarding and they seem to be the ones doing the most ripping.

Sorry that it took so long to answer, somehow I just lost this thread!!!

First:

GOOD JOB with your wakeboard! It looks nice!!!!!!!!

I used my old wakeboard with really really old wakestraps (I promiss to upload you some pics next week!) and what I felt is:

- My WakeBoard is HEAVIER than any kiteboard
-WB I feel are more resistant
-WB donÃ‚Â´t edge as much so yuou canÃ‚Â´t go upwind as much
-WB loose their grip tp the water so you "skip" a lot!

But these are only comments on my experience perhaps you can tell us more!

You must drop the lease.
To much Rocker.
Foot pads are a must.

This is the major difference between the two. Bigger rocker on the wakeboard, small rocker on kiteboard. The wakeboard will be very slow in comparison to a kiteboard. My suggestion would be to rather buy a cheap second hand kiteboard, it will performance better than a wakeboard.

Hyperlite offshore= perfect kiteboard.

143x 38cm dead flat, parallel sharp rails (no curve in out line though the stance area) phaser bottom,,super loose, super fast,,,

PERFECT KITEBOARD

I picked up one for 99 usd.

Good luck findiing one, they're several years old....2 fins center-line,,

add some more and it's dialed
