OZKiteboards

Postby aprok » Wed May 04, 2005 6:12 am

First of all, I want to let you all know that I am in no way affiliated with OZKiteboards and paid almost full price for it - I got it on eBay.
The board is truly amazing - the rail is so thin and the board does not have much float so it lets you dig that edge really deep in the water --> great upwindability (this is similar to sailboats with keels that are capable of going upwind at a sharp angle).
Last time I was out on LBI with my friend and it took him 6 tacks (is that the right term?) to get to the same spot where it took me 2 and he is a more advanced rider.
The board I have is 137 (or 134) by 39 and I can kill the speed even when overpowered very easily because the board sinks so gracefully when edged. I notice that I really need one board as in light winds I can change the angle and make it float more.
The only problem is that the board tends to delaminate but can easily be fixed with marine epoxy and I actually just treated the edge all around as a preventative measure.

They moved to South Africa and do not respond to warranty claims. Do not buy these boards.

Dude,

this guy is my friend. He is in the middle of a move. He does not have his computer hooked up at this time. Try in 1 week.

He did not respond to my emails but when I asked my friend to email him pretending to be a potential buyer, he was pretty quick to respond.
