2006 Monkey Kites

Postby kitesurfwarehouse » Wed Oct 19, 2005 9:49 am

The 2006 tribe and Evolution Monkey kites are now released. I received my new kites last week and have found them excellent. Huge jumps and ultra stable. Increased wind ranges, super thin struts, optional bridle attachment or 4 or 5 line sytem, whichever the rider prefers really. Personally i've been on the 5 line system.

all the pics and details are on http://www.kitesurfwarehouse.com/home.html

Also the UK and Ireland representative for the Great downwinder has been chosen. Stephen Anderson (UK)of Ballywalter N.Ireland will receive the all expenses paid trip to compete in monkey kites Great down winder in Australia. Close Runner up peter shipley(uk) has also been offered a subsidised place on the trip, and i know he is busy fundraising to make sure he is there.

Again pics and details on http://www.kitesurfwarehouse.com/home.html

I thought that all the info concerning the downwinder was still a bit of a secret until Monkey/Selena sends out a newsletter about the downwinder.

For the Benelux we have at the moment 1 full sponsored kilter and 2 that are subsidized places as you call it. I will not publish any names yet, but there are 2 females and 1 male selected.

On your website I can only find the surfplan pictures, do you have any real photo's. Hope to receive my kites next week.

Grtz

We asked all of our applicants to attend a competition in Ireland where we selected a rider. A very difficult and gruelling process. Because the winner was announced that evening to all those who competed it hit the forums pretty quick. So the word was out so to speak

Here's some pics i snaped quickly with my phone but i will have better ones in a week or two no doubt.

The performance and build quality is even better than last years. You'll be very pleased i'm sure.

They are looking good, did also got some tribes in the new color ways ?

My kites will be finished coming friday, then 4 day's of shipping. I am ready for it !
I bought a new cam (NIKON D70s with 70-300) to shoot some good pictures.

If you compare the 2006 kites to 2005 what is the biggest improvement ?

I would say the thin struts are great, and of course the new graphics.

I haven't tried teh bridle system yet as the bars aren't out but i'm excited to try the reverse launce and braking capabilities if offers.

Aparantly you can brake right in hte centre of the window, and totally depower. Sounds nice.

Jumps are still huge and the kites are still very stable. It is also nice being able to fine tune the kite for more power by sheeting in the foil, or more lift by sheeting it out.
