I need a kite for 18 knots - 30 knots and I would like to know if the RRD Type 7 9m is good for waves like the waroo 9m. I have a Waroo 13m, which I use in sub 18 knots condition, but I find it's turning slow in the waves, which I don't like.
My F-one Tribal 11m broke, and I need a kite for some freestyle & waves.
RRD Type 7 is a 2006 kite. The 2008 model is called Type 9. The Type 9 is a bridled kite like the Waroo. The Type 9 is significantly more suited for wave riding than the Waroo as it is much faster. The waroo is more of a grunty/low end kite. Probably great at what is does, but its primary strength is not as a wave kite. I know because I just ordered a Type 9 in 9 m2. It's a brilliant kite!!
Dr R. Have you riden the 08 Roos. They are way more stable and don't backstall like the previous models. They even float along when riding waves and I found them quite quick. But the best advice is always to fly both kites because we all have different riding abilites and likes.

Jose,
You should try to find an RRD Wave Type. Those are awesome kites for the waves, and they turn super fast. Designed specifically for waves. It's a 5 line kite w/lots of depower.
I might be able to find one for you, if you are interested...send a PM
