Fluid Torque 10

Well, last Sunday was my second session with a Fluid Torque 10.
Wind was very unstable, wind speed kept shifting, direction not as much.
I was very pleased with the easy handling, speed and immediate depower.
Less pleased with the fact that it has to have considerable bar pressure to turn fast.
I have to get used to the kite. It seemed to be more responsive if dinamicaly handled.
(Flown with a Turbo-diesel pulley bar, 27 m lines.)

Just my €0.02

Now that I have logged more than a dozen sessions on the Torque 10, I have this to say:

The turning is still somewhat weird for me, coming from a C background, but I have found that the other bow pilots find the turning acceptable, only that it does not turn on its axis, rather a curve turning bow.

I have never had such an easy kite to relaunch! Even compared to my 5th line C, the Torque touches water and the next moment is airborne - just from keeping the tension (which I do instinctively).

When I had only Cs, I used to rig the 2 kites I had, and ride one or the other whenever the wind strength changed. These days, I only rig the Torque and it holds from 13 to 24 Knots for me (138x40 Skywalker @ 82 Kg).

I find it very easy to jump. This is totally different from the Cs -- with the Torque I sort of let the kite up from 10, loading as it goes, and then just pull the bar to convert to lift.

I have had a leak from under the LE bladder valve on the tip. As I mentioned this to Steve from Fluid Kiteboarding, along with the fact that I had never crashed or otherwise stressed the kite, he proceeded to send me a new LE bladder. It made me very happy that he stood by what he sells.

So, all in all, I must say I am very pleased with this kite.

Well, I bought it at the end of 2007, so I think it's a 2008 Torque.

Well, Calamalka, I bought it "kite only".
As I stated on the first post, I fly the Torque with a 24 inch Turbo-diesel pulley bar, 27 m lines.
