Seeking advice:
I'm about to get my first board, It'll be Spleene Monster Door. Is any significant difference btw 2007 and 2008 models besides price? Any alternative board? I'm 235 pounds (107kg)

The 2008 boards are a little less flexible than the 2007, plus they have sharper edges. The construction is completely different, they now have a wood core, which gives them a really nice feel (great dampening effect).

Either board is awesome though and probably the best board for your size and skill level.

FYI, any really good board will be over $700 US.

the 08 boards only have a wood center stripe with 100 cm in length and 8 cm in width inserted into the PVC-core. That gives a more reactive feeling when you ride the board in choppy conditions, without having all the well known disadvantages of full wood cores.

Although the 08 boards nearly have the same outline as the 07 boards, the new 3D-Shape makes them "smaller". This is the review of all riders which have tested the boards so far. Everybody told us that the 08 boards are more agile. You can ride with more comfort and more control. Sailing upwind has never been easier.

With your weight you don´t have to use huge kites to have fun if you choose a Door.
