Like to find a board that is great on the slicks but also handles chop when I get outside the flat water.

Underground FLX 128 x 39 (custom width), also custom strength (extra layers of glass)(makes it stiffer)
Absolutely eats up chop and is sick in flat water but even sicker in waves. Love it.
Oh, it's the 08 I am using.
If you want a wave board, go with the FreeWave. Kick ass as well. Eats chop like nothing else I have used.

PS: UG makes you the custom board for almost nothing extra.

Hi,
This is really a tough one, some good flat water boards a real pain in chop. I have/had both FLX and Mako mentioned above, in a few sizes. The mako is the king of chop, the FLX king of all-around. In flat water the mako dose not really show its true unique qualities. Its good but so do others. Both boards will serve you well, but in my opinion if you have more chop go for mako, more flat water go with FLX, cant really go wrong with either.

One disclaimer, in HUGE chop the longer makos start to have a little length problem, in that case the FLX will catch up and exceed the longer makos. This is not an issue with the short mako (134). Having said that, in normal and big chop the mako is still the king, ace of spades, jack in the box, big daddy, with very few boards touching it.

Best FLX size IMO is 132, but I did not try the most recent version.

In most days I look at the mako and flx, cant decide, and just pick one randomly without any logical reason. And I am never disappointed.

I Make my own boards, Mako knock off rides chop sooooo good, flats also good, but a small good squarish end board rocks in the flats, but sucks in the chop, so the difference between should be optimal, Kinda roundish and squarish at the ends at the same time......

Get your hands on a liquid force recoil 133 or 136.
Super fast, loads of pop and handles chop reaaally well.

I didn't had the chance to ride the mako (no dealers here) but the outline and size
doesn't look good for the flats at all.

I have ridden Crazyfly, Nobile 555, Skywalker, Spleene Session boards. I now have the RRD Poison.
I ride flat to choppy waters, and in my opinion, the RRd Poison is the best board I've ever had. I know other riders appreciate it a lot in my area.
