^^^^ I find i use the stopper a whole lot. The throw is sooo huge. I think thats because they wanted a lot of depower. But as I have found, once you depower it that much (to where the stopper is at the top) my 12m will barely turn, and the wing tips "squeeze" in. Thats in the 18-25mph wind range. Thats why I just picked up a 2008 9m session.
The 16m and 6m combo would be a way dramatic quiver. It would seem that you would need to either depower the 16 a whole lot. Or work your 6m a ton.
I prefer a 12m and 9m. With a lightwind board and a smaller board.

Hey just got my 2008 9m in the mail. Heres a quick mini review/comparison.

Review/comparison of 2008 Liquid Force Session 9m

Construction:
Everything on it looks almost identical to my 2009. Only thing different that is apparent is that the leading edge "pads" on the 2008 really aren't much; just some foam strips. On the 2009 they are thick foam/plastic ribs.
The bridal seems a bit bigger/longer, but this could just be that there is more lines spread across a smaller kite. (compared to my 12m)

Everything else is almost identical. I will update as I learn more about it, and actually fly it.

anyone know how to repair a leaking kite? I have a LF session that has a leak in the leading edge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey well thought I would complete this Review. I actually sold my 2008 9m Session and upgraded to the 2009 (Black one). I didn't like the flying characteristics of the 2008. It pivoted more from the center of the kite. I like the 2009 cuz it pivots more towards the wingtip

Here is my review of the 2009 9m:

I have gotten to spend three sessions on the 9m. One of which was on my first time on flat water. The average wind speed was 17-24mph

Comparison to my 12m:

Everything that gets better with a smaller kite stands true here. The 9m is much more responsive and quicker through the air as expected. The relaunch is quicker. Flies upwind faster, etc...

The depower seems to be a bit more on off. I like the depower on my 12m better. I found my riding position on the center line of the 9m to be a bit far out for my taste. On the 12m I typically have the bar about 6inches away from the CL. But on the 9m I was always riding a foot out on the depower. I played around with adjusting the depower and have yet to find a spot "that felt right" for me. This could have been just the conditions and my lack of experience with this kite.

As for the "Pop". Since I just found a flat water location I have not had any good practice doing "wakestyle pops". I always just used the kickers/waves in the ocean to get air. Anyways I flew both kites at the flat water location and it was much easier for me to direct the 9m in the direction I wanted to boost when needed. However because it is more responsive I found myself oversteering a ton.

Not a complete review but just some feelings I got from the kite and thought it could be helpful anyone looking to purchase these kites.

Heres some pics

Hi all,

I have digged out htis thread for the following.
I own a Liquid Force Session 6qm from 2009 for very strong winds.
Over the last sessions, I came to notice that the tips tend to snap and fold insight ("squeeze") as soon as I pull the bar hard.
It feels like the main strut (front strut) at the very end of the tip is not strong enough to hold the pulling forces by the backlines through the bar.
Then it starts to stutter really bad, so I have to release the bar.
I am inflating the kite properly and it also does not loose any air.
Did you ever deal with that proplem?
Is there any way to enforce the wing tip, so it cannot snap?

I am looking forward to receiving any support.

Best regards from Germany :-)

Hi,
I have a same problem with my session kite. I know this thread is old but has anyone resolved this problem? I weight 230lbs and when I try to jump with my 16m session, wing tips goes flat and kite goes powerless. I know I'm heavy but other smaller kites can get me in the air :D It's a great kite otherwise :thumb:
Best Regards from Finland :)
