French test magazines: Here the results!!!!!

Postby le zee » Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:13 am

The 2 french Test magazines are released now (Kiteboarder and Kitesurf mag).

Results are clear: Zeeko for its first year is the revelation of the tests.

Find results per magazine in French kiteshops.

For this overall ranking, the method of ranking used for racing contest was applied:

- Only kites tested in both magazines were taken in account.

- When there is different sizes tested, only the best result was used.

- Note/Brand/model allows to have the ranking for a magazine.

For example, on kiteboarder magazine, Notus By Zeeko obtained 18/20points. This result placed the Notus 2nd of the ranking for kiteboarder magazine (2nd = 2points).

This ranking method was applied for both magazines and the score of each magazine was added to the other.

Here is the top 5 of the best kites of the 2009 year (including ex æquo results).

It's better to use the worst result. because if manufacturer have only one size which works (all other sizes are just bigger/smaller copies?), they will get good points.

For consumer it's best if manufacturers every kite works!

Who buy just one kite? So it's very important that every size works!

for zeeko, it was tested 9m on one magazine and 13m for the other one.
For cabrinha, it was a mix: 12-10 and 8m.
Depends on the brand.

The link

http://zekites.over-blog.com/article-30737874.html

that you posted is pretty much a Zeeko advertising blog, linking straight to the Zeeko site... Not very subtle...

But still the kites look pretty cool :thumb:

(at least in your "test" you didnt give it 1st place, althought Cab Switchblade at 1st... wtf! haha :D)

Any details on the tests? How was the tests performed? In ways, flatwater, chop? What was the preferred riding styles of the test riders? Was all settings evaluated on all kites? How long time was each kite tested? Looks like I'll have to push the button on this one...

i guess if same magazines would take tests lets say in Canada i'd bet there will be top 5 containing 1 brand. overrated, overpriced but still 1. so much for objectivity...
