if u are into freestyle\wakestyle so get X
but if u are into freestyle\freeride so get Z series
X is more stiff
and quality and etc... and specially atmosphere pads stpraps are much better then the 1 u use
their boards are fantastic

I'm really happy with the X-Series. (170pnds, 5'11")
I have the 134X40.5, And lately i've been riding with the footstraps/pads. I really like the comfy pads. The board is bomb-proof construction, and is pretty stiff. They come with an extra insert for boots/bindings, I think with boots will be a better ride since it will flex the board a lil more. POPS like crazy, I've had to learn to slow my tricks down so i dont over rotate. For sliders the board has a scratch proof top/bottom sheet. So far i've been hitting sliders with trex decking material, And no marks have shown up. I'm not the best at sliders but this board is making me a better slider rider.
Coming from the Naish Thorn, I think you will be happy with this board. But if you can I always recommend demo'ing before making a purchase.

info about the x-series :
i already cruised on alot of different boards also tested out the 2009 models of north and i have just on thing the say the x-series beats it.
got a verry good upwind, when i riding back home i never have te feeling have to work to go upwind, boards does it from it self.
also compared to my other boards i make me speed alot faster what it verry usefull for having a good offset on the in coming waves.
the pop that is on it is just magnificient. and because of the tons of flex my landings are smooth.
here i added some pictures of normal conditions in Belgium :

the x series is my favorite board of all time. it 's a much forgiving board then the z series. i can take my 134 x series in any condition from light wind all the way to high high wind. it's a light wind machine. i have both the x and the z. i would definitly suggest the x series.
