sounds like they've added the tip battens to stop the tip deformation that seems to happen occasionally on the 09 and 10 SBs. I thought it was just my '09 12m SB that did it when i got aggressive with my fast turns and downloops, until i tried a friends '10 14m SB which did exactly the same thing. How do you find the turning on the '11?

Can someone help me choose a size? I have been bouncing back and forth between 11m & 10m.
Here is some info:
weight: 210lbs
wind: 15-30
currently have: 16m Switchblade
I am leaning more to the 10 for those high windy days. I have a 12m but it has been repaired and getting old so that is why i am replacing.
Any thoughts would be great.
Thank you for your help.

Bpchilds,
If i was 210lbs and had a 16m Switchblade, my next choice kite size out of a 10 and 11 SB would be the 11m. For high winds I would look at an 8m Switchblade to complete the quiver. You could get away with jumping to a 10m Switchblade, however it is possible that in the lower wind range (15-20knots) you might be wishing you had chosen the 11m Switchblade kite.

Im also at 210 and ride 136 Caliber . For the wind range you want the kite for I would say 11m, the new SB does have a nice low end and is improved over the previous years so the 10m does have nice power. Going from 16, to a 10m is a big gap, if you are going to maintain a 12m then going to a 9-10m would make sense. I just spent a week on the new SB kites along with the 9m Nomad. Most noticable improvements for my skill level are the additional lowend power, a notch up on smoothness and predictability, the bar and recoil. The Nomad definatly felt more overall power on teh low end and still had that extreemly high end stability with a great ability to smooth out the gusts. This year I felt the throw of the depower was much better as well. The NOmad is worth a look if you like that style of kite, since it has such a high end range and less power per size on the low end. I would recomend that you order a size larger than what you would normally order in teh SB line up.

Anyone tested the top end of the 2011 SB 11m in high winds? Have a 2009 10m ok up to 25Knots. Hoping to get that from the 2011 11m (when strong gusts come through ), with allot more bottom end for lighter days.
me 75 Kg
2009 10m SB 15-25 Knots
2010 7m SB 19-?? Knots
2010 17m Zephyr 8-18 knots
