Time to have the years kites come out at the right time!
Hhmmm ... there is a whole world outside of the USA you know
For us (Southern Hemisphere countries), Jan is already the END of our windy season and quite late. Stuff should be available mid Oct at the latest.
Having said that, let me try and help with this teaser.Just unpacked on Wed but no wind as yet so I can't comment on flight characteristics.

I Can't Wait to fly this one last years Zombie was a killer kite
fast, stable and a huge range i took my 9m2 out 95% of the time.
i preformed well in all conditions, im not selling it yet
does anyone have a picture of the bar, because it could use some work

New bar has better hardware (stainless inserts, etc.), but the safety is the same. It works great. Only issue last year was amount of throw which is supposedly fixed. Either way, it is as easy as going to West Marine and picking up some spectra.

I've used 7m, 9m and 11m a couple of times now and am starting to get a good idea of what they are about.
First off though, the throw on the bar seems fine. I use the sliding stopper quite often so the throw is longer than I would use in most instances. I will still get arond to taking pics of the bar for you.
Kites
* 7m - Seriously, this is hands down the best 7m I have used to date. It is incredibly stable with loads of usable power and it still retains it's handling characteristics in super strong winds. Twin tip or directional, wave or freestyle, no problem.
*9m - Very similar feel to the 7m. The best way to describe it is really just super easy to fly. It's stable, predictable, turns fast enough, and the more wind the better. There are 9m that will get you going sooner, but none that will have you in a much control when things start getting wild.
*11m - Same feel as the other two sizes, so you know it's from the same family, and the control and feel is just as awesome. It could do with a bit more power at the bottom end and a bit more pop for freestyling, but if you're on a directional and wave riding there's nothing you'd change.
All three have above average upwind ability and great hangtime in jumps. the more wind you throw at these kites the happier they are.
Hope that helps?

How do they compare to the Zombie? Bar pressure, low end, high end, etc. Sounds like no more range than the Zombie? Thanks!

Seking,
I haven't ridden any Zombies so unfortunately I can't give a direct comparison.
The bar pressure is moderate but can be adjusted to light/er by switching the bridle attachment points on the LE. I have tried it and it does make a noticable difference. I couldn't even tell you at this point which I prefer. More time on the water will tell.
Regarding wind range, I'm not sure what your expectation is for an acceptable range from a kite, but I would currently estimate the Spitfire ranges as follows (I weigh 110kg, so adjust accordingly).
11m 15kt - 27kt
9m 18kt - over 30kt
7m 22kt to whatever you can throw at it

S.A. - thanks for the info, thats helpful. I am on Zombies now and fly the 9m 90% of the time. The 6m is too small for me (and many others which is why there is a 7 now) and the 12 was a little too slow/heavy for me. I had heard more range, faster and lighter bar pressure this year which would make an awesome kite. I hope its more truth than hype! I have my order in, so I'll post my comments when they finally arrive..

I had a few session with the 7 spitfire.
The spitfire 7 had way more power than the zombie 6
it feels 2 size's bigger.
The bar pressure went down almost the same as the mayhem x.
also the kite is super stable and easy to fly.
The spitfire is faster then the zombie and more off a preformence kite.
just like S.A sad waves, freestyle, big air.
It exels in all conditions, You can't go wrong with this kite.
The only thing a would like to change is the bar stick.
