Switch Method 7m

I recently went out on a limb and purchased the Switch Method 7m. I ride strapless in the waves 100% of the time in CA. I've owned/flown over a dozen kites from various manufacturers over the last 2 years and I can say this kite is one of the best if not the best kite I've flown. I've used the kite for 4 good sessions now and I'm definitely stoked on it.
Kite:
This is a fast, efficient, light-weight, responsive kite with great low-end, good water relaunch, and an attractive price tag. I honestly have not been able to find anything to "nitpick" on this kite. I can usually always find something. 8) Construction seems just about as good as any other kite on the market. I really like the single inflation/deflation valve. I was a little worried about the thinner diameter struts/LE and being noodly and affecting water relaunch. However, it seems to hold it's shape nicely in the air and I've crashed it twice in the surf and it popped out within several seconds.

Bar/lines:
The bar is very nice as well. It's simple and easy to depower/power with one pull line above the bar. The area of view above the bar isn't too cluttered or bulky. There's plenty of clearance for the center lines in the through-hole of the bar. The grip is a little stiff. It could be a little softer and slightly larger diameter for those 3-4 hour marathon sessions.

I weigh 155 lbs and have been riding a 5'5" or 5'9" and have been able to stay upwind in high teens on this 7m. I'm really impressed with the power and upwind ability of this kite for it's size. I can't wait to get the 9m Method.

I agree. Awesome kite and bar! Excellent in the waves. You will love the 9m also.

Glad to hear it, I got my 7m method last week and will hopefully try it this weekend. What setting did you have the bar at - the inner knots or the outer (wider) knots for the 7m?

Hi all,
It all comes down to your personal preference.
If you want your kite to be super quick then set it on the out side setting(which comes stock) and also the 20m line set up. Taking off the 3m extensions.
If you want to tone it down a little go to the inside setting .
Its Totally up to you and how you like your kite to fly.
I personally like 20m set up with the bar full length.
Enjoy your new set up
Regards
Felix

Outer knots and 20 meter lines....
30 mph wind
One ocean of water
Add infinite sets of sweet waves
One surfboard
You (your name here)
Combine all ingredients
Rip all until tired....

I've been flying it with 23m lines and on the wider bar setting. I like the wider bar setting so it's responds a little faster for those last second recoveries after smacking the lip.

Also, I needed to shorten the outside(steering) lines from the stock setting on the bar. I like to have the kite back stall slightly when I pull in the bar all the way.

I haven't flown the Zombie, so all I can say is the Method is more affordable.

thanks a lot!
i have mayhem 14, use it up to 26 knots and looking for the second kite for more wind
i like how my caution handles gusts...having that feel of safety...
i tried SB12 from my friend with the same high end and found gusts punch it too much
i saw you were selling spitfires before, are they the same as zombie if compared to method?
i know thats silly but i kinda devoted to caution somehow
