Naish Fish 2013

Postby herbert » Sat Oct 13, 2012 6:42 pm

I'm considering the new (2013) Naish Fish for light wind and small/medium waves. (I weigh 90kg...about 190lbs). I understand the 2013 Naish Fish has a little more tail kick. Has anyone tried it and found it turns better than 2012? Is it noticeably slower?

I assumed it turned in a tighter radius because they website specifies increased tail kick (ie. tail rocker) and one reason to increase tail kick is to make a board's turning radius tighter. Since it is a wide board and wide boards turn slower...thought maybe that had something to do with the change. Of course every change has a positive and a negative in some characteristic. It would also be less prone to nosedive when headed down a wave as the increased tail kick causes the tail to go down and nose up. Perhaps the change is so modest as to be insignificant?
How do you like your 2012? Under what variety of conditions do you use it? Pros? Any cons?

I like I can use a smaller kite, easy to jibe or try new tricks. Definetevely better to play in smaller waves with this toy. Strapless with this board is 100% easy.
Mind it's quite large board, so it's not a down the line hard cutting edge bottom turn board. When it's demanding I take other boards.
I think it's a board good to have in the quiver.
Ciao !
