Woohoo... almost time to start: Which kite brand do you fly? (August 2004)!
Fun never stops!
Maybe... which brand are you thinking of trying/buying next? More interesting to see where the market is heading...

Or "if money wasn't an issue which brand would you choose?"
just to have an idea of how much low prices influence one's choice.

Price is never the primary factor in kite purchasing decision... would you buy a kite, even if it is 50% less if the perceived performance and quality was only 20% less... no... how do I know, all I have to do is look at the pricing spread between 04 vs. 03 kites of the same brand... people will still gravitate to the new stuffs. That is why it has been very difficult for new brands to crack the top tier.
But if you achieve comparable (or superior) perceived performance, and have a great buzz mindshare, controversial good or bad... then price discounts is the kicker that closes the deal in your favor.

yep, that's what I meant. And the question could be done in a different poll with the same brands as this one, just to see the divergence on both polls. Maybe other kite brands would open their eyes then and adopt a different business model making kitesurfing more affordable to all of us.
I believe it is not the gimmicks on the kite (recon, fifth line, one pump...) that influence someone's choice, but more the performance, durability and price (for those with an empty pocket). At least that's how it worked for me
, and this is where BEST stands out, imho.
example: if money wasn't an issue I would pick a Cabrinha Contra as my light wind kite, but since money is indeed a problem... that's a big no no to cabrinha

no, the poll is global of course.
But there are many people from these 3 countries on this site, that was the point.
Anyway, be sure to see many more Best kites even in Germany with the 3 for 2 deal, since then you have a bigger gap between prices.
And don't forget EH kites to count as well!
They belong to Best now...

i'm surprised by this, it does however reflect the ratio of web savvy kiters to cost savvy kiters, as opposed to rich pricks with no internet access but a lovely porsche.

Well in my neck of the woods price is not much of a factor.
Best kites 3 for two deal three kites three bars and 3 sets of lines 2097.96
Naish 2547.43
449.47 difference
Other kites are a bit cheaper and north is a bit more. Very few best kites here because there is no support in the way of local shops.

Geez... I guess you also advocate buying that $500 underbody rust protection plan on new cars too...
