fuel 2006 more advanced than 2005 fuel?

Postby snygging » Mon Jul 10, 2006 7:05 am

I went out yesterday with my new 2006 fuel 13 and im used with the 2005 fuel. I think the 2006 kite was really good, but a little bit harder to use than 2005 because of the higher ar or maybe It was because of it was the first time I kited with it.
But when I did kiteloops it feelt more agressive with more pull, and in unhooked trix it even feelt a little bit to quick and in the gusts a little bit more nervous than my 2005 fuels. But maybe i wrong (I made really big jumps with the 2006 kite but I want an easy wake kite).

Whats the experience from you other slingshot fuel guys fans is the 2006 fuel more demanding than 2005 fuel???

Must the 5th line be engaged

Postby snygging » Tue Jul 11, 2006 9:24 am

One thing hitted me!
When I went out on my new 2006 fuel I didnt hade any tension at all in the 5th line (is 2006f more dependent of 5th line than 2005f?).
Should I have that and if so how do I notice when the tension is to much for optimal performance. Is there any rules like when you are trimming the back and front lines look at the kite tips or look at the kite profile???

too much depower combined with too much 5th line equals slack back lines equals sloppy steering. i set my depower to an "average" based on the wind speed and then use the 5th to dpower from there. in surf as soon as i take off on the wave i pull in the 5th a couple of 4 inches or so to take more off the kite and then surf the wave. kick out and let the 5th back out so you can fire right back out.
